Dance to Beyoncé.
Make new friends.
Clear up the things that have been holding you back.

Entrepreneurs are a unique breed.
We are all-in all the time.
We don’t see the line between work life and life-life,
because to us, it’s all connected.

We experience the full gamut of emotion in a single day–from delightful wins to crushing defeats–as we work to build our empires. Our dreams are big and the journeys we take to achieve them are both rewarding and daunting.

And sometimes, when our hours are long, our teams are remote, and the rest of our loved ones are still banging out the 9-5, we feel a little like lonely warriors. But, it doesn’t have to be like that.

yh8a2335Hows about we make friends?

If you ever get that feeling that you need to find your people–not your customer people–but your fellow big-dreamers, your fellow executors, your fellow innovators, we assure you, you aren’t the only one. There are lots of us out there and we’re ready to connect with other people who work and live like we do. We want to connect for support, for advice, for inspiration, and for laughs. But our connections aren’t just good for our souls, they’re also good for our businesses.

Making friends is key to your company’s success.

As the cliched saying goes: your network is your net worth. Don’t believe it? Have you ever heard of the “Old Boys Club?” I rest my case.

Connecting with other entrepreneurs is essential to your growth as a CEO and to the growth of your brand. My entrepreneurial friends have taught me almost everything I know about business, they have promoted my work, collaborated with me again and again, referred a ridiculous amount of business to me, and offered shoulders to cry on along with solid advice when I hit a big old, blow-your-tires bump in the road.

Cakes and CoachingMaking friends is essential to making money.

You know what else helps with making money? Having fun. Yes, I know this is getting more and more unbelievable but it’s true. As my friend Susan Hyatt always says, “the more fun I have, the more money I make.” The combination of doing work you love and injecting more fun into it is a killer recipe for increased revenue.

So how can you make friends + have more fun?

I know how important my squad is to my day-to-day and to the success of my business, and I know I’m not the only one who craves that support. So, I came up with the perfect way to make it easy for us all to meet some spectacular fellow entrepreneurs and inject some fun and inspiration into our businesses and our lives…

Dance + Coaching

Dance + Coaching is my fabulous and fun live event in New York City. We’ll get in the studio (a professional dance studio) to bond with some amazing women entrepreneurs while learning to dance from one of the best and most fun dance instructors in all of NYC.

Not only that, but we’ll follow up our dance session with a special brunch where we will connect, bond, share our struggles and get clarity on the things holding us back. Nothing accomplishes this quite like putting yourself in a room full of women entrepreneurs who have just laughed, danced, embarrassed themselves and had a great time together.

What happens at Dance + Coaching

At Dance + Coaching you will hang out with me, Rachel Rodgers, a business coach + intellectual property lawyer, and other women CEOs. We’ll begin by getting our dance on in a beautiful New York City professional dance studio. Our dance class will be lead by the lovely and incomparable, Robert Hartwell. A professional Broadway dancer and professional cheerleader, who will make you feel fabulous, teach you some fun moves and inspire you! Expect to dance to Beyoncé and werk to Rihanna. 😉

After a super fun, delightful and inclusive dance class, we’ll be hungry and ready for brunch! We’ll enjoy a lovely brunch + coaching session where you’ll have the opportunity to introduce yourself and your business to the group. Then, you’ll share your biggest struggle or an area where you could use some clarity, followed by feedback from me and your fellow Dance + Coaching entrepreneurs. All the while, we will be connecting, learning, growing, brunching and having a good ass time!

What you’ll take home
You’ll leave Dance + Coaching with new strategies for your business, clarity on your next steps, a squad of new entrepreneur friends to call on, and some new dance moves to use at your next party! What’s not to love? Amiright?

Here are all of the details you need to know:

  • When: Saturday, February 18, 2017, 8:30am – 11:30am
  • Where: A professional dance studio in New York City (Midtown Manhattan address + studio number will be provided upon confirmation of purchase)
  • What: Dance + Coaching, a dance class + coaching + brunch event for 20 entrepreneurs where you will learn some new dance moves (absolutely no dancing experience required — all you need is a desire to have fun!) and be inspired by fellow entrepreneurs. The dance class will be followed by a group coaching session where you will have an opportunity to introduce yourself and your business to the group and get coaching on your current biggest struggle. You’ll also be fed a yummy brunch because it’s Saturday and we’re Bosses Who Brunch.
  • Who’s It For: Dance + Coaching is for women entrepreneurs who want to expand their network and connect with fellow entrepreneurs in their very own city (or a city near them). There will be a total of 20 entrepreneurs in attendance including moi, your host, Rachel Rodgers.

Rachel Rodgers Prime MastermindI’m a business lawyer turned business coach, intellectual property strategist, and the creator of Small Business Bodyguard.

When I’m not showing creative business owners how to build strong services businesses, I’m running a very non-traditional law firm that is disrupting the legal industry by making it surprisingly easy (and damn fun) for innovative companies to work with experienced attorneys and get the legal help they need to do the crazy stuff they want to do.

In 2013, I created the Small Business Bodyguard: Cover Your Bases, Cover Your Assets, Cover Your Ass. This game-changing legal resource has been called “fun and engaging” by New York Times bestselling author Chris Brogan and a “graduate-level course on how to build a strong foundation for your business” by CEO of OurDeal, Kyle Durand.

I am known in the legal industry and beyond for being an innovator and master of productizing services and creating high-quality, high profit products. SBB and the other legal kits I’ve created have been transformative, generating half a million dollars in revenue in just two years and serving 1,700 small businesses around the country. And I achieved those results with almost no active marketing because I simply didn’t have the time.

I have also spoken on the subject of productization, building solid service businesses and intellectual property in numerous venues including a class on CreativeLive, to MBA students at MIT and at various conferences including, InfusionCon.

I received my J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York and my “MBA” the hard way, by building various successful ventures over the last 5+ years and learning from the best business minds out there. Before becoming an entrepreneur I worked for various state and federal judges, a high-impact non-profit and Hillary Rodham Clinton.

When I’m not taking care of clients, I enjoy baking in the kitchen (barefoot, with rosé in hand), lifting weights, juicing (the green kind, not the steroid kind), reading to my toddlers, being a “dance mom” to my girls and going on new adventures with my family (my favorite destination being the South of France, of course!).

And let’s not forget your incomparable dance instructor, professional Broadway dancer, Robert Hartwell.

Robert Hartwell is a professional Broadway dancer, with credits under his belt such as Cinderella, Dreamgirls, Memphis The Musical and Motown The Musical. But don’t think he’s all Broadway.

Robert will teach you how to shake what your mama gave you to Beyoncé’s Formation. Robert will lead us through the choreography of Formation and make it so fun and easy for you to follow. We’ll be learning some other dance moves as well.

In addition to being a professional Broadway dancer, Robert is an entrepreneur. As CEO of The Broadway Collective, Robert tours the country preparing young aspiring dancers for Broadway. The Broadway Collective is only in its first year but has already exceeded six-figures and continues to grow.

Robert is not only extremely talented but also incredibly kind. As your dance instructor, Robert will create a fun, inclusive environment where everyone can have a good time, learn a few moves and have some laughs along the way.

Bring your big idea and your dancing shoes.
